This place is a paradise, it refreshes your soul, and brings you closer to your partner, to yourself and the nature all in one go. It makes you realise that these worldly tensions are of no significance and that age is no barrier to spending time with your partner.
Swimming with a view of the Indian Ocean with my husband by my side, I forgot all my worries and I realised that this is life. The burns caused by the harshness of the sun did not bother us in this romantic destination. People were ready to click our couple pictures without any hassles.
I have been to a similar place in Thailand named Ko Samui Island but the experience this time was quite different. I was single at the time and now with a hand to carry me.
The beach villa and the water villa of Medhufushi Island Resort where we stayed for 4 days had an open bathroom, bringing us closest to the environment with plants all around. The view from the room to the ocean was guarded by palm trees and was healing. Basking in the forest, long walks on the beach, romancing and swinging in the middle of the ocean reminds you that nature has been loving you always.
Maldivians are very concerned about preserving the caring Mother Nature, even our rooms were full of sign boards to protect nature in some form or other. They are also quite friendly and loving, the resort staff greeted us with a hello and warm smile every time they pass by us. Hospitality was quite good. We met a Maldivian localite with a shop inside the island resort who was doing photo shoots for couples. We booked a package with him after being impressed with his work. He was quite accommodating and gave us freebies since he was not able to shoot us at the appointed time.
This place is like Nasha, I feel nostalgic about this place, and its vibe. The continuous sound of the water in our villa reminded me that life is also similar, always on the go. But in between you have to touch the shore and take a break. This break not only rejuvenates you but also helps surpass your past fears and emotions.
Looking at the waves gushing towards the villa I was reminded of how time flies. I was a little intimidated girl, always wanting to be loved and paid attention to. But nature has always showered constant love on me by giving me these beautiful breaks from adulthood worries. As I looked away from the villa, deep in the ocean which looked like adulthood, always volatile and raging with fear. But as we turn towards the shores, there is peace within.
