Day 2:
We decided to walk 7 km from Jhariphani to Mall Road the next day. Appearing quite easy at the start, we realized that walking uphill was difficult, and we were stranded in the middle. Took a lift from a stranger who dropped us at the Main Market.
Be touristry for a change- We took a package of approx. 2k which started with Kempty waterfall. One can skip the place, a bit overcrowded and even the lakes are artificial. Though October marks the start of tourist season, I wondered what the situation would be like next month. Next, we went to Santura Devi temple, a peaceful place with a shop at the entrance for good quality kurtas and meditation vessels. Lastly, we headed to the Shedup Choephelling Buddha temple, the 1st Tibetan shrine built in India.
With calmness in mind, we saw a sign of Radha Swami Satsang Beas, after the car dropped us back to Mall Road. It was a surreal walk to the end of the curvy road and later in the day, we headed back home. Walked 7 km downhill, guarded by mountains all around and accompanied by a tall Shiva statue and beautiful sunset view for a while, which made the journey more comforting.
Day 3:
Small trek to Jhariphani Castle- On the last day at Mussoorie we decided to relax at the hotel and explore the Jhariphani waterfall which is approximately 4 km trek from the hotel. Scared at the sight of no one being around with scary animal sounds in the wild. I kept pushing Pushkar to move further urging him that the waterfall is too close. The road turned narrower and narrower and at a point, it was completely broken because of rains. We could see a glimpse of the waterfall through the lush green forest but had to return disheartened. Endless talks in incessant rains, soothing view from the hotel with a sip of tea & bhel puri, ended our day well.
