Wander with me in the rollercoaster ride of emotions as I muddle through the journey of life

Uttarakhand Top Tips

Sept 21 – Sept 22 |Haridwar: –

Day 7:

We left the city of Yoga and Meditation with peace within to travel to the city of Temples, Haridwar. After checking in to Le Roi hotel, just at the railway station, we went to Shri Mata Mansa Devi temple and Chanda Devi temple. We took a single ticket for both the temples which included the transport and ropeway to travel to the temple.

We were eagerly waiting for the evening to set in for Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri Ghat. The earliest you reach, the better the chances of getting a seating place nearer to the Ganges River. We arrived at 5 pm and managed to get a place somewhere in the middle, my advice will be to reach around 4 pm and reserve a seat on the steps. Pandits were adorned with white traditional dhoti with copper Diya’s lit everywhere. The bhajans and aarti lasted till 6:30 pm and post that we made our way to Haridwar market towards the railway station. We again hogged at Chotiwala restaurant, the same franchise that we went to in Rishikesh and did some impulsive buying of copper bottles, which the place is known for.

Day 8:

We checked out of the hotel early morning to catch a train to reach Delhi, devoured some snacks at CumSum, at Nizamuddin railway station, and headed to the airport to come back home.
