Love was at the peak, but she feared heights. Waves gushed over the shore and close against the side of the shore that one could see the shadow of them sitting. It was so serene & still that even the winds could feel the warmth of their hug. There were shacks all around, made of strings of bamboo & one could see the flower adorned in her head.
“Look at the moon, honey. It is so beautiful” the girl said.
The man sipped the beer and held her hand more tightly “Are you hungry?”
She nodded and started playing with the sand.
“One French fries & two Kingfishers”, the man said to the waiter
“small or large ones? “
“large” man confirmed
“Honey, I want to ask you something”
Taking off his spectacles, he turned towards her & kept the glass down after a long sip.
“What’s the matter? You look tensed” the man asked raising his brow
The girl took a deep breath & said “I am scared”
“Scared about what?”
“Scared of losing the connection which we share, scared of losing the feelings which we have, scared of losing everything which is at the present moment”
“What are you saying, honey? Why are you thinking like this?”
“What if all this is lost? Then what? ”
“Why will it be lost? Have you turned nuts?”
“Just answer me”
“Honey, there will be times we might get fed up with each other but the connection never fades. The feelings are bound to connect us again and again whenever there is a rift. So just relax and don’t overthink. I am there for you”
Tears rolled down and her cheeks said the rest. Her insecurity paved her mind but his maturity solved it all. Love was at the peak; But she feared heights.
