Confused..What’s the difference? It’s quite simple, Ladakh is a district which covers Leh and Kargil. Kargil is less famous and hence less explored by travelers as compared to Ladakh. Kargil has its significance on account of Indo-Pakistan war, but it also encompasses monasteries, mosques and river valleys.

Must places to halt while travelling from Kargil to Let
Namika La & Fotu La Pass – The two highest mountain passes between Kargil and Leh, located at Zanskar range. Fotu La is famous place for mountain biking and our “Doordarshan” broadcast center is situated here. You can halt at this pass to click amazing biking pictures, remember to carry your leather jacket here.
Sangam River – The confluence of the Indus and Zanskar river, is famous for river rafting in the cold water with a captain allowing you to take a dip in the midst of the rapids. From here rivers from India and China meet and flow into Pakistan, with your captain giving you all the instructions in detail at the start.

Magnetic Hill – This hill road is a downhill road, where cars appear to move uphill, defying the gravity. You turn the car into neutral position and you will sense your car automatically moving uphill.
Gurudwara Pathar Sahib – As you move from the Magnetic hill, you reach to the beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak. You can just sit peacefully there and also enjoy the langar food in the evening after 7 pm.
While being on roads and halting to gulp Maggi noodles, you will find fluffy dog breeds and local people selling their stuff on your car window.
