Road to Mental UnLoad

Mental Unload

We, humans, like to load ourselves with maximum responsibility and are always burdened with it. We are always proving a point, proving it to our boss that we are working the best in the team, proving to our partner that their point of view is in the right direction regardless of what others think, proving to our friends/well-wishers that our life is hunky-dory, masking the ugly experiences.

Why do we prove?

Because we carry all the load in our mind, forgetting that it’s not a dustbin to be stored with anything and everything. For that matter, even a dustbin has a certain capacity, so STOP! Stop pressurizing your mind so much that It wouldn’t be able to hold onto that capacity and would burst someday. Stop proving to others and start doing things that make you happy.

The moment you start proving to others, you have started a conscious living. Your conscious thought put into every aspect of your life can turn you into a robot. Your mind is always worrying about what others think about you.

The best exercise to unload your mind is to gaze at a point and think randomly. It helps you understand the actions around you, which bother you more, and gradually you understand that things that mattered to you in the past do not even bother you now. All this happens when you do this activity consciously for 10 mins every day. I call this self-talking when you talk to your mind and let your thoughts flow naturally, without suppressing or thinking about it.

Things might not go your way always so it is important to let things go. Sometimes it is important to believe that if it is meant for you, it will come back to you. Here I am not just referring to people but also any activity you have been trying for a long but failed to achieve perfection. Taking a step back would create an opportunity for the other person or situation to tread towards you. The new person or experience can sense you better and spark confidence in you.

Let life tell you what it has in store for you and stop planning what life will encompass.
