She can still remember the first striking conversation, the way he tried to make her feel comfortable between all the new faces around; his coming again and again to check on her, whether she was not feeling left out and their first secretive movie which they planned, dodging their way through similar faces and landing on his bike. All these situations were paving the way to “durgati” in their life. By durgati I mean an analogy to the miseries leading to their overall lifestyle.

Wondering why they had a come for a typical Bollywood movie; obviously recommended by her, they planned to endure the dearest passion common between them; which was food. Gorging hungrily through the garlic naan and conversing in tandem; they plan to drive back home. Even the trees around and the water rippling of the beautiful swimming pool could sense the dynamics between both of them. The endless talks and teasing each other; sensed as if they knew each other more than a decade.
Their words dint have a full stop; their laughs knew no bounds; their inexplicable emotional connect was without any explicit expression and their understanding had no limits. To add to this, they left no day unturned when they dint meet and exchanged random stuffs. They explored every freaking restaurant nearby and every gossiping center till they were thrown out embarrassedly.
Unsurprisingly, there was a hidden care and sudden change in body language which everyone around started noticing and started being judgmental. The nags would create uneasiness and made them more careful, but never dampened the synergy between them. They were ready to face the “durgati”(as he coined it) as they both admitted that this durgati is mutual and deep down they liked each other’s company
Durgati of travelling long distances to locate a restaurant of choice, Durgati of dropping her late night to her place, Durgati of listening to her when she wanted to chatter at midnight, Durgati of sleeping as if sleep was a rare and costly commodity to acquire; But in all this durgati, there was a silent understanding, inexplicit care and pride in their friendship.
When all this durgati had grown so vehemently on them; durgati changed its course and their endless talks limited to one liners; he faked out that the durgati never existed and she was constantly figuring out why durgati is affected by some serious durgati. Her answers unanswered and the durgati still waiting to change its recourse to original and complete the incomplete journey of their friendship…
